Braithwaite, Ruiz get two each but Tropics fall to SeaWolves, 10-6
LAKELAND, Fla. – Gordy Gurson and Eduardo Cruz each scored hat tricks as the Orlando SeaWolves defeated the Florida Tropics, 10-6, in a Major Arena Soccer League game Saturday night at the RP Funding Center.
Orlando scored twice in the first three minutes of the game, and the Tropics were chasing that deficit the entire night.
The SeaWolves led 3-1 at intermission, and got a goal from Gordy Gurson in the first minute of the third. Goals by Caio Ruiz and Antonio Manfut got the Tropics to within 4-3, but it was as close as they would come as Orlando scored four more times to take a 7-3 edge into the final frame.
Florida got two each from Andre Braithwaite and Cruz and Victor Parreiras added his 11th of the year. Orlando also got two goals from Mario Alvarez and single markers from Thiago Freitas and Osvaldo Rojas.
Florida will be on the road next weekend for a lone Sunday matchup in St. Louis against the Ambush, Kickoff is at 4:05 CST and the game will be broadcast live at www.masl.tv.
