Diegues, Parreiras pace Tropics SC to win, within one point of first place
AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Tropics SC jumped its win streak to four straight, and sit just a point out of first place, following a 3-0 win over Sporting Orlando Wednesday night in a United Premier Soccer League game at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex.
Ricardio Diegues got his team leading sixth goal of the season in the 14th minute to provide all the offense the Tropics would need. Victor Parreiras got his second of the year in the 46th minute, and Corey Mills finished out the scoring finishing off a nice play by Xavier Silva in the 68th minute.
Not only are the Tropics unbeaten, they are also unscored upon in all four of its wins. Hugo Silva again went the full 90 to get his third solo clean sheet of the spring.
Sporting Orlando remains atop the UPSL Pro Premier Southeastern Conference Florida West Central Division standing at 4-2-1 with 13 points, but the Tropics at 4-0-0 have 12 points and still three games in hand, with weekend dates this Friday and Saturday, May 4 at Lake Myrtle to close out the homestand.
Parreiras joins a group of Tropics SC players who have two goals this year so far including Melvin Boetang, Mills, Keisuke Ohata and Silva.
This Friday, April 26 will see Inter Orlando Academy visit while GOSA (Great Orlando Soccer Academy) will invade for the team's only Saturday night home game of the season.
