Game Preview: Tropics face second straight MASL Goliath
The Florida Tropics will once again attempt to play Major Arena Soccer League David to a second straight Goliath when they travel to Baltimore to take on the defending league-champion Blast Friday night, Nov. 18.
Kickoff at the Royal Farms Arena is set for 7:35 p.m.
Last weekend, the Tropics debuted in sensational fashion, rallying from a 4-1 deficit in the fourth quarter to shock the San Diego Sockers, 6-5. Ricardo Diegues highlight-reel bicycle kick goal with just 31 seconds to play capped off the incredible comeback which electrified the Lakeland Center crowd.
Diegues' first goal of the quarter started the Tropics comeback. Victor Rojas also had two goals, including the first in franchise history, to earn All MASL Team honors for week two.
This is the first of three games against the Blast this season, a divisional foe along with Harrisburg and Syracuse. All three of the games will be played in Florida's first seven games, with a return trip to Royal Farms Arena on Dec. 10. In between, the Tropics will host Baltimore on Dec. 3, the Tropics next home game.
The Blast are 1-1, having opened on the road with a win in Harrisburg before having their home opener spoiled last weekend by the Milwaukee Wave, 4-3. All three of Baltimore's next games are against the Tropcis.
Live coverage of the game will be available on the MASL's You Tube channel which can be accessed through the team's website at www.fltropics.com
