Mississauga shuts out Tropics, 10-0

MISSISSAUGA, Canada – The Florida Tropics fell to the Mississauga MetroStarts, 10-0, in a Major Arena Soccer League game Saturday afternoon.

The majority of the Tropics roster did not dress for the game because of Canadian immigration work laws, forcing the team to sign most of their players for Saturday's game that already lived in the greater Toronto area.

It was the second time in franchise history the Tropics were shutout, and the second largest margin of defeat. It was only 1-0 after the first 15 minutes of play, but the expansion MetroStars scored three goals in each of the final three quarters. Former Major League Soccer MVP Dewayne De Rosario had a goal and three assists. Molham Babouli had the hat trick.

The Tropics will be back in action Sunday afternoon in a 2:05 p.m. kickoff at Utica before returning home Friday, Dec. 14 to host the Harrisburg Heat at the RP Funding Center.
