Montelares snags Week Four all MASL team honors

For the second straight week, the Florida Tropics have one of its star players named to the All MASL weekly team.

Defender Lucas Montelares, who had a beautiful assist on a key goal by Lucas Teixeira in the fourth quarter of a 6-5 win against Cedar Rapids in the Tropics exciting home-opener last Saturday on SYKES Field, was cited by the league.

Earning honorable mention honors for all MASL team recognition for week for was forward Ricardo Diegues, who banged in two goals in the win, including what turned out to be the game winner, his second of the year.

Last week, newcomer Mauricio Salles was honored as an all MASL team pick for week three after a four-goal weekend in Texas and Monterrey.

Florida will have a showdown this Saturday, Nov. 18 on SYKES Field at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland when they host the Baltimore Blast, who have won each of the last two MASL championships. Tickets are available at www.fltropics.com, or by calling 863-240-0101.
