LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tropics got two goals each from Victora Parreiras and Ricardo Carvalho, and set a franchise record for most consecutive wins, defeating the Orlando Seawolves 6-3 in the team's Major Arena Soccer League home opener Saturday night.

The Tropics improved to 4-0, one of just three undefeated teams in the league, and the four-game winning streak is now the longest in team history.

Carvalho now has five goals and nine points on the season to lead the team offensively. Parreiras' goals both came in the first half to give Florida a 2-1 at intermission, and Carvalho's first gave Florida a 3-1 lead at the 7:03 mark of the third.

Orlando roared back however on goals by Derek Huffman and Richard Schmermund to tie the game at three-all 19 seconds into the final period. However 10 seconds after the equalizer, former SeaWolves star Gordy Gurson energized the crowd of 3,108 and got the game winner for Florida. The Tropics added late insurance tallies from Lucas Montelares and Carvalho.

Brett Petricek, who just signed with Florida two days before game because on injuries in goal, was strong in net and picked up the win in his 41st career MASL game.

The Tropics will stay at home for two more Saturdays, with Baltimore visiting on Dec. 21 and a rematch against the defending champion Milwaukee Wave on Dec. 28. Florida defeated Milwaukee 5-4 in the Wave's home opener last weekend.
