Road trip! Florida Tropics SC head to St. Louis, Kansas City this weekend
LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tropics SC will be looking for their first road win of the 201819 Major Arena Soccer League season this weekend with back-to-back games in the midwest.
The St. Louis Ambush (3-4) will host the Tropics (3-3) on Saturday, Jan. 5, in a 7:05 CST start at the Family Arena and the Kansas City Comets (2-4) will do the same on Sunday in a 4:05 CST kickoff at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Both games will be broadcast live at www.masl.tv.
The Tropics are 0-2 on the road this year, falling to Mississauga and Utica City in back-to-back games in early December. Florida comes into the South Central division matchup off a win over another divisional foe, the Orlando SeaWolves. The Tropics got three goals from Victor Parreiras in a 9-6 home win last weekend.
Guilherme continues to lead Florida in scoring, with eight goals in five games, tied for third for most goals in the league in the young season. St. Louis fell to Milwaukee, 11-5, in a New Year's Eve matinee in Milwaukee, and is led by newcomer Joe Regret who has seven goals in seven games.
Kansas City defeated St. Louis, 10-4, in their most recent outing, and is led by Leo Gibson who is tied for second in the league for most goals this year with nine, and leads the MASL with 11 assists.
Florida will return to the RP Funding Center in Lakeland to open another three-game homestand on Jan. 12 when they host the SeaWolves, followed by a Jan. 19 visit by Milwaukee and a Jan. 26 appearance by the St. Louis Ambush. For more information and ticket information, visit www.fltropics.com
