St. Louis rallies with five in the fourth to top Tropics, 7-5

LAKELAND, Fla. – The St. Louis Ambush scored five unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes to defeat the Florida Tropics, 7-5, Friday night at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

Florida built a 5-2 lead after three quarters, on two goals each from Victor Parrieras and Anthony Arico, but the Ambush started the comeback with goals just 13 seconds apart by Jerjer Gibson and Joao Pepe made it 5-4 just 1:13 in the fourth. Pablo DeSilva got the game winner, and his second of the night, at the 7:58 mark. DeSilva and Pepe each scored twice on the night, along with single goals by Nester Hernandez and Clayton Matheus.

The win was only the second of the year for St. Louis, now 2-11. Florida fell to 6-6, and is just 3-4 at home this season.

Ricardo Diegues got his team-leading 13th goal to round of the Tropics scoring. Florida was without the services of Mauricio Salles and Lucas Coutinho who were out with leg injuries.
