Tropics drop United Premer Soccer League road-opener to Florida Premier, 3-1
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Florida Tropics, presented by Bond Clniic, dropped its road-opener to Florida Premier FC 3-1 Saturday night in Tarpon Springs,
Will Nyamsi got the lone Florida goal, giving him four on the season. He had a hat trick when the Tropics opened their 2021 Spring UPSL season with a home 7-1 win over Tampa FC.
The outdoor Tropics are still missing stars from their Major Arena Soccer League side, including forward Victor Parreiras, defender Lucas Montelares and goalkeeper Hugo Silva, since the MASL playoffs are commencing this weekend with first-round games.
The Tropics have a first-round playoff bye in the MASL post season after winning the regular season title, and will play in the sem-final round in Kansas City the first weekend in April against an opponent to be determined.
The UPSL Tropics will be back in action this Saturday at 7 p.m. when they host Polk County rival Winter Haven United. Admission is free at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex, with a $10 parking charge for single occupant vehicles and $20 for multi-occupant vehicles. A special children's Easter Egg hunt will be held prior to kickoff. Visit the Tropics social media platforms for more details.
