Tropics fall for fifth straight time on road, 8-3, to St. Louis Ambush

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Florida Tropics SC continue to find the road a lonely place to be after dropping their fifth straight game away from the RP Funding Center losing 8-3 to the St. Louis Ambush Friday night in a Major Arena Soccer League game.

After scoring nine goals last weekend at home against the Ambush, Florida managed just one goal in the first 30 minutes from Ricardo Diegues to trail 3-1 at intermission. The Tropics are playing this weekend without their leading goal getter, leading assist man, and top two defenders, all out with injuries.

Caio Ruiz and Andre Braithwaite got second half goals, but Florida got no closer than 6-3 midway through the final period. Justin Stinson had two goals for St. Louis, and the Ambush got three assists from Zach Reget.

Florida, now 4-8, will be right back at it Saturday afternoon when they meet the Kansas City Comets in a 1:05 (CST) start to conclude the quick midwestern swing. The game will be broadcast live by Eleven Sports.
