Tropics Help Launch New TOPSoccer Program in Lake Wales

Lakeland FL - The Tropics helped christen the new TOPSoccer program at the Lake Wales Soccer Club Saturday morning. Pedro Ivo Dias, who started all 14 games for the Lakeland Tropics in the USL Premier Development League this summer, was on hand for a ceremonial kick off and to help players with some on field "buddy" help. TOPSoccer is designed to allow youngsters with special needs the opportunity to get on the soccer pitch once a week and play with other youngsters. 

Many of the players have "buddies" along side them to help with some of the needed skills.  Ivo Dias, a star at Southeastern University on the soccer field, is also signed as a member of the Florida Tropics which will start their second season in the Major Arena Soccer League this November. The home opener is Saturday, Nov. 11 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland. Check out the photos from the event below:
