Tropics Partner With Lakeland Adult Soccer Org. to Form New and Improved Friday Night Men's League

Lakeland, FL - This Fall 2018 LASO will be partnering with the Florida Tropics SC organization for Friday Night Men’s Open League. Our Friday Night Men’s Open league will be known as the Lakeland Tropics Adult Soccer Organization, a division of LASO. The league will have all the benefits and privileges as members of Florida State Soccer Association and the marketing and brand recognition of the Florida Tropics SC. Managing the division will be the LASO Board of Directors.

The Florida Tropics operate a professional indoor team in Fall/Winter, a USL PDL outdoor team in May to July and recently an entry in the Women’s Premier Soccer League Women’s. With the Merging of Lakeland FC (LFC), PCU and Celebration last year the Florida Tropics also are managing one of the largest youth Clubs in Central Florida. Our growth is in proper communication with the players here who age out but do not move on to college play.

The aim is to improve the Friday Night Men’s experience immediately through this relationship. This will be accomplished through improved team and player expectations, and by bringing the price down to 80.00 per player and 1200.00 per team. In addition, the Tropics will provide added benefits to players including unique game experiences and prizes for the winners. The Tropics will also be scouting the league for players who may be able to move up to one of the premier or professional teams within the organization. The goal is to create a strong competitive men’s open Friday night league and eventually expand into further opportunities with co-ed and tournament play in Central Florida.

The Tropics will work closely with the LASO board and player members to provide the best experience possible while also improving player conditions and organization throughout the league.  The league will appoint Tropics GM Andrew Ross as LTASO Chairman and Ivan Arias as Director, effective immediatley. Both will serve on the Board as a non-voting members.
