Tropics SC can clinch division title Wednesday following weekend win vs. Huracan FC

OLDSMAR, Fla. – The Tropics SC continued their push to the playoffs Saturday night toppling Huracan FC, 3-0,in a United Premier Soccer League game.

With the win, the Tropics improved to 9-0-0 in the UPSL Pro Premier Florida Central West division on the season, with Hugo Silva getting his sixth individual clean sheet. He shared a shutout earlier in the year with Jorge Navarette as well.

The Tropics got goals from Xavier Silva, Melvin Boetang and Keisuke Ohata. For Silva, it was his sixth of the season, second best on the team. It was Boetang's fourth and Ohata's third.

There are currently 2 games left, Wednesday May 29th against OFC Barca and Tuesday June 4th against InterUnited Academy. A win this Wednesday would assure the Tropics of a first-place finish in the division for the regular season. Kickoff for both games at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale is at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be streamed live at www.mycujoo.tv.

The Tropics soccer club currently fields two outdoor teams in the summer months, with the goal of creating a larger talent pool for the club's hoped-for move up to the Division III level in the coming seasons. Tropics SC plays at Lake Myrtle in Auburndale in the UPSL, while the Lakeland Tropics are now in their third season of play at historic Bryant Stadium in USL League Two.
