AUBURNDALE -- The Tropics SC guaranteed themselves first place in the regular season in the UPSL's Pro Premier Florida Central West division with a 2-1 win Wednesday night against OFC Barca at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex.

The Tropics improved to 10-0-0 on the spring with one regular season game remaining on the schedule, next Tuesday at Lake Myrtle against Sports Internunited Academy. The UPSL playoffs will commence shortly thereafter, with a schedule to be finalized in the near future.

Xavier Silva scored both goals for the Tropics, and both came on nice crosses from Victor Parreiras. The second came right at the end of the first half as Silva broke to back post on a direct kick and headed in what proved to be the game winner.

Neither team scored in the second half. Hugo Silva got the win in goal, and made a huge point-blank save at the beginning of second half stoppage time to preserve the win.

Kickoff next Tuesday is at 7:30 p.m. The game will be streamed live at For tickets and more information, call 863-240-0101.
