SYRACUSE– The Florida Tropics SC set a team record for most consecutive goals scored, and tied a team record for largest margin of victory, in a 9-4 win over the Syracuse Silver Knights Saturday evening

Trailing 4-2 early in the third period, Florida reeled off seven straight goals, three by Victor Parreiras and two by newcomer Rafael Schlemper to improve to 4-2 overall. Parreiras now is the team leader in goals with seven.

The win was payback of sorts as the Silver Knights came to Lakeland last weekend and hung a 6-5 defeat on the Tropics.

Florida also got goals from Lucas Coutinho, Anthony Arico, Freddy Moojen and Marco Rodriguez. It was tied 2-2 after 15 minutes. Syracuse took a 3-2 lead at intermission, and opened the second-half scoring just 72 seconds into the third period on Jake Schindler's second of the night. Nate Bourdeau and Dom Vitale also scored for the hosts.

Syracuse outshot the Tropics 28-25, with Piotr Sliwa, playing big in the second half after a couple of early miscues resulted in easy Syracuse goals, improved to 4-1 on the season.

Florida will be right back at it Sunday afternoon when they travel to Baltimore in the first of a home-and-home series. The Sunday matinee against the Blast kicks off at 3:05 p.m. The two teams will meet against Friday night in Lakeland, with a 7:35 start on SYKES Field at the RP Funding Center.
