Tropics trade Enzo Marangoni to Orlando SeaWolves for player to be named later
LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Florida Tropics SC have reached a deal with the Orlando SeaWolves to send forward Enzo Marangoni to the second-year Major Arena Soccer League team for a player-to-be-named later. Per league and team policy, no further details about the trade were released.
Marangoni was slated to start his second season with the Tropics, after appearing in only 12 games for Florida, after missing two months with a leg injury midway through the 2018-19 season. He had three goals and three assists. A native of France who has extensive futsal and beach soccer experience, Marangoni spent two years on the French National Beach Soccer team and played for Toulon Elite in the top futsal league in France prior to joining the Tropics. Marangoni also was a participant in the 2014 Crossfit Games.
He'll get plenty of chances to meet his former teammates as Florida and Orlando will meet five times in the Tropics first 10 games of the season, including the season opener at Silver Spurs Arena on Nov. 22 and the Tropics home opener on Saturday, Dec. 14, when they host the SeaWolves in a 5:05 p.m. start at the RP Funding Center.
The Tropics roster for the 2019-20 season includes former SeaWolves Gordy Gurson, Rainer Hauss, and Stefan Mijatovich who were all signed by Florida in the off-season as free agents. Gurson was fifth in the league in goals last year (34) and fourth overall in points (58) while Hauss was fifth in the MASL in goaltender save percentage.
The Tropics open their fourth training camp early next week. For more information on season tickets, which start as low as $70 for all 12-home games this winter, visit fltropics.com or phone 863-240-0101.
