Tropics will end season-long five-game road trip with stops in Milwaukee, St. Louis

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tropics will close their longest road trip of the season this weekend when they travel to Milwaukee Saturday and St. Louis Sunday for games in the Major Arena Soccer League.

The Tropics are currently 2-1 on their five-game road stretch, coming off back-to-back wins last weekend over the Eastern Division Baltimore Blast  and Harrisburg Heat. The Tropics lead the East with 37 points, nine clear of the second place Blast who have also played three more games than Florida.

Saturday’s kickoff in Milwaukee is at 7:05 p.m. EST while Sunday’s start against the Ambush is a 5:05 p.m. start EST. Both games will be broadcast live on the MASL YouTube channel.

Victor Parreiras continues his strong bid as a league Most Valuable Player candidate, and comes into the weekend with 37 points, second overall in the league to Milwaukee’s Ian Bennett (40), fourth in goals (20) and tied for fourth in assists with 17. He had seven points in last weekend’s two games.

St. Louis is led by Mohamed Ndiaye who has 17 goals and 19 assists.

The Tropics will return to the RP Funding Center in Lakeland next weekend for their first home game since January when they host the Tacoma Stars is a special “Star Wars” themed game that includes Star Wars Tropics jerseys that will be auctioned off after the contest. Kickoff is at 3:05 p.m. 

The “Tropics Blitz” allows for free general admission tickets  as a way of providing a great evening of family entertainment for parents and kids who have had their activities curtailed because of the ongoing pandemic.

Vehicles with two or more persons will pay $20 to park, and then be able to take their parking receipt to the RP Funding Center box office for the same number of free tickets to that day’s game as occupants in the vehicle. Single occupant vehicles will pay just $10 for parking.
