Tropics will open fourth season of outdoor play in April in United Premier Soccer League

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Tropics will make their fourth appearance in the United Premier Soccer League starting in April with a 10-game regular season schedule.

The Tropics will play in the UPSL’s Premier League, Florida West Division along with seven other teams, many of whom were on the Tropics schedule last season when the team advanced all the way to the UPSL National Final Four, winning the southeastern conference championship.

A number of the Tropics Major Arena Soccer League stars have suited up for the outdoor side over the past few years – which included in 2019 when the team won the UPSL national Spring championship – like Victor Parreiras, Ricardo Diegues, Ricardo Carvalho, Drew Ruggles and Lucas Monterlares. 

Florida opens on the road April 2 against the Clearwater Chargers and will be on the road two more times in April for games against the St. Petersburg Aztecs on April 16 and  April 23 against Leg A-Z International.

They then return home for four straight, starting Sunday May 1 at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale against Florida Premier FC. They will say home for the next three Saturdays then, starting May 7 against the Azzuri Storm, May 14 against Naples FC and May 21 vs. Leg A-Z International. 

On Memorial Day weekend, the Tropics will hook up with expansion team Lakeland United on May 28, and then be back home the first two Saturday’s in June in matchups against Clearwater and Lakeland again.
