Tropics will start 2022 UPSL playoffs with matchup against new local rival Lakeland United

AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- The Florida Tropics won't have to look far, or go far, to find their first-rounds United Premier Soccer League playoffs.

The Tropics will host Lakeland United -- playing in their first spring UPSL season -- on Monday, June 20 at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

It will be the third meeting in the last five weeks between the two, and the Tropics come into the Florida West Premier division playoffs as the only one of five post-season teams who are unbeaten in their last three. 

Two of the Tropics wins came against the United to secure a playoff berth. Florida won both games by a 2-1 score. 

The Tropics finished fourth in the eight-team Florida West division with a 4-3-3 mark. The United finished fifth at 4-4-2.
