UPSL Tropics surge to top of the table after 3-0 road win in Naples
NAPLES, Fla. -- The Florida Tropics are back in familiar territory in the United Premier Soccer League.
The Tropics rolled to a 3-0 road win against Naples FC Saturday, April 10, to move to 3-1 on the season, atop the UPSL's Florida West division. Florida is tied with Florida Premier FC who is also 3-1, but have a larger goal differential (a plus 11) to claim first place.
Will Eyang had another big night for the Tropics, getting two goals including converting a penalty kick. All the goals came in the game's second half. Rayan Lammers added the additional Florida goal. For the season, Eyang now has 10 goals to lead the Tropics, and the UPSL nationally as well, going into games last weekend.
The Tropics will be back at Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale on Saturday, April 10 when they host the St. Petersburg Aztecs in a 7 p.m. start. The Aztecs come in at 2-0, with 1-0 wins over both Naples and Winter Haven United. The Tropics defeated Winter Haven 4-0 earlier this season.
Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. Admission is free, parking is $10 for single occupant vehicles and $20 for multi-occupant vehicles.
